Open Question: If the Big 3 did receive the $25 billion bailout, would people really start to buy their cars again?

Some analysts say that if we don't bail out the car industry, they will go below since people don't want to buy cars from companies that might go bankrupt. Would $25 billion really ease consumers' worries? Personally, I think people would still be put off from buying from these companies, as $25 billion does not guarantee that they stay in business. I also think these three companies are where they should be - they weren't creating high quality, fuel efficient cars that are needed today. Unfortunately, every these decisions were up for management to decide and now millions of car workers could pay the price. If Congress does go through with this, I wish these three companies give their execs the boot.

Open Question: CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT THE BIG AUTO 3 WENT IN FRONT OF LAW MAKERS TO ASK FOR A BAIL OUT AND HAD NOT PLANS ON HOW?

OMG i cannot believe it, i believe that this just proves that the big 3 is just another big business just handing out their hands to receive a piece of the bail out money. i mean arrive on did they really think that they can go in front of congress and just say " there will be a fatal affect to the economy of we do not receive this money", and expect them to say okay here you go, we believe you. Yet they arrived there in private jets to ask for 25 million and here we are tax payers, paying for a bail out for them. The big 3 was ask to look if they had a operation plans for this money and they could not answer the question. Before the crisis they have this plans for health insurance plans that they can put on hold until they are on their feet that will keep them millions too and they have a upcoming 25 mil to create new cars that they can wait for and use. Commentators every say that their really is not sign that they really are in debt except for the little things that has been happening. I say the gas company who has made record billions and billions of money should be the one to bail them out after every they are joined at the hip, right?

Open Question: what to do??? please help.?

Ive lived with my sons dad for 4 years, Ive always had a problem trusting him (he's friendly and very outgoing) (and I've been burned bad in the past) We argue alot and last month he decided after a battle that he was done. we are "not together" he says...yet we live together. Recently he has developed quite a social life, out every the time, using the excuse that he doesnt want to be here to argue. He tells me we should take turns leaving the home and have my son stay here...this is said and never done. He texts about 15 girls ( I have no idea who they are) but than sometimes comes around here to try to be intimate with me. He says he still cares about me, and loves me, but that it's none of my business what he does or who he talks to, texts, and I am free to do the same. I have strong feelings for him still even though sometimes I could...well you know... by the way, we have the same phone bill and everyday I look to look who he has been talking to, then bring it up to him, we battle, he leaves, and it goes on and on. Open Question: How can Congress possibly bail out the Big 3 Automakers when...?

How can the US Congress possibly vote billions of taxpayer dollars to bail out the Big 3 Automakers when the buyers of the products made by the Big 3 Automakers have lost their jobs and have no money to purchase any new cars? Somehow this idea places the cart before the horse in more ways than one, doesn't it? Why pay taxpayer dollars to Ford, GM, and Chrysler to keep them in business doing the same old thing when that process is what got them into trouble in the first place. The government has already voted to spend money to assist them in development of new technologies for the future...what more is necessary from the taxpayers? Anything that can go onto a list should be paid for by the Automakers, not the taxpayers. Next, cigarette manufacturers will be in Washington demanding billions of dollars because they are being driven out of business by the Anti-Smoking campaigns, the Japanese Whalers will be in Washington demanding billions of dollars because Green Peace is driving them toward bankruptcy, etc., etc. How much of this balooney must we eat before we stand up and say, "That is enough! I am done with this bailout mess."

It seems like the are being a little unfair to automakers, who actually produce tangible goods, and employ several times more people then the banks they bailed out, who don't actually produce anything tangible, but only create fake wealth by playing shell games with people's money? VCN you must be one of those people who haven't stepped foot in a Ford/GM/Chrysler dealership, and automatically assume because their Civic has VTEC and is made in Japan, "It must be better!" If people didn't buy SUV's and pickups, then GM wouldn't make them, and GM has more cars that receive 35mpg then any other manufacture.

Open Question: Why do bar owners double-book musicians and/or bands for gigs? It seems like such a stupid mistake to make.?

Double-booking is when they schedule you, perhaps weeks in advance. Then, later down the road before the scheduled date, they schedule somebody else on top of you. it's happened to me a couple of times and it's pretty appalling to walk into a place you think you're supposed to be playing in and find somebody else there setting-up. Why do bar owners do this? I have a few theories. One is that they are often drunk. Another is that they simply book you ahead and maybe later decide to book someone else instead, and don't bother to tell you. After every, you're just a musician, right? Another theory is that they really are as bad at keeping calendars as it seems. I'm a musician, but I'd like to hear the perspective of someone in the food/drink industry, as opposed to fellow musicians. Maybe it's a business thing musicians don't understand.

Open Question: HOW do I recover from this TERRIBLE mistake I made w/ my bf's family!?!?!?

We've been together almost 2 1/2 years now, I met him when I was 17 & he was 19 through his little sister who WAS my best pal. My bf comes from a family of 5; 2 older sisters 1 older bro and 1 little sis, his rents are still married. Me and her had been bffs since we were 10. She's kinda a bitch sometimes, unfortunately I met him RIGHT after a guy I'd been dating for like 6 months had broken my heart and so on. She thought I was rebounding w/ her brother, so WHAT does she do? Talk crap to her mom, and her 2 other older sisters. That 1st year of dating his mom, oldest sister Bri, and other older sister Sara, were completely icy as ice to me. It sucks his family is WAY close he sees them 3 -5 times a month! His dad and older bro were the only ones to show no hostility for me, thank God for dudes, seriously. Now, after that 1st year of horror his mom has BARELY started to warm up to me, Sara had forgotten it practically and Bri still hates me. Bri is just like her youngest sister, both bitches. Yes well I'm stupid, I'm SO stupid, I'd like to blow my head off for what I just did, WHY did my senses take a leave of absence?!?!? They were every finally starting to MAYBE like me!!! We go over to dinner and learn Sara is pregnant again, super exciting. Then a separate time my bf goes over and his mom tells him he thinks she's gonna miscarry this time. Then at the celebration of his mom's, dad's and sara's bday. I notice halfway through that she's drinking wine. I should have waited til it was over, I shoulda mentioned it once we were alone in the car together. I'm SO gaul darn stupid. So I receive up and in front of bitchy sister bri, I ask my bf if she miscarried. Bri and him go dead silent and she gives me this "I can't believe you just asked that you stupid girl!" look I fumble and beg for the car keys. I escape and steer for like 30 minutes god knows where freaking out about going back inside I call my best pal who doesn't know what to do and then my mom who tells me the "oh so helpful advice of..." Honey that's just who you are, he'll adore you no matter what or not. Thanks mom, it's NOT Cody that's the problem it's his sisters & mom! I KNOW bri is gonna tell every of them and his mom. They'll hold onto it forever! I walked back in and we left shortly after, Bri stayed after everyone left, I know why, she'd share that info w/ her mom and little sister, Sara was thankfully the first to leave, but she'll hear eventually. What do I DO?!?!?! Seriously! I've been beating myself up about this for WEEKS. My bf is SO lucky, I have the most dis-functional family in the world, my parents are divorced, my dad is a narcissist so no matter WHO I date unless he fits PERFECT standards he'll NEVER like him, I NEVER look my dad, my mom is crazy (bi-polar) but she loves my bf because "I" adore him, and my extended family gather 1 MAYBE 2 times a year. Open Question: I saw a movie years ago, but I don't know the title or any of the actors in it.?

It was a British film from the 70's, I think. It was a mind-trip of a film (like the screenwriter was high when they wrote it). Here's what I remember of it: A man is in a room full of upper-class business associates when the police arrive. For some reason, they go around the room asking everyone to identify or refute their signatures on a document. Everyone says that their signatures are forged, until the main character is asked. The business associates indicate that they want him to say it is his signature, so he does. He's then taken from the room by the police, who beat him in the hall, then he's put in prison for a number of years. The man is released from prison, given a Bible, and goes on his way. In one scene, he finds himself in some sort of asylum where the staff are performing terrible experiments on the patients interred there. The main character pulls a sheet off of one screaming man strapped to a bed, only to discover that the man's lower half belongs to a goat. The last thing I remember is the man enters a church and is very hungry. He sees a big amount of food on the alter and goes to eat it, but a lady comes out and stops him saying something like, "That food is the Lord's food." Then she sits, placing his head in her lap as she proceeds to breastfeed him. Weird, I know. If you can help me out, that'd be great. Thanks!

i had to write this essay, but its not finished so it has 3 paragraphs..but what do you think? its supposed to be for a sophomore honors literature class.. please read and tell me what you think and what i need to change if you are so nice?(its a five paragraph style essay) In the tardy eighteenth, early nineteenth century, there was an international race between powerful countries to colonize Africa and other places, where there was abundance of natural resources, market and their citizens were considered to be “backwards” and it was their burden to set them “on the right path”. Although at that time this action was considered beneficial to the colonizers, this brought on many deaths and difficulties that are still seen today in those countries. In the novel “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe, the greed and perhaps the faith of those who came to the Igbo tribe caused disturbances and deaths among its people. In the eyes of the Christians, the missionary act was considered to be a good one, “saved the needy souls”, but if we analyze it, their arrival and influence destroyed their culture and tradition. The involvement of countries such as the United States in the affairs of those places, can be viewed as a good thing or a relapse of the inhuman behavior they had years ago. From experience we have gone through our time, we know that mistakes can be made. The united states in their “duty” to help those who were not able to be on their possess today were perhaps wrong in their equivocated reasons. Wealthy countries projects honorable intentions when they involve themselves in foreign affairs, however their true intentions are greedy. Before, the race was to colonize the countries that would be more beneficial to the colonizers, now as we can look by reading the article, the places where the land is fertile and cheap labor is available are the perfect choice for business. The article “Foreign Nation Reap Bounty in Hungry Africa” shows the world that the bad deeds done a century ago are still alive. Some may say that this is a great thing, it will “help the Africans” but will it? According to the article countries that aren’t capable of having their possess agriculture are creating them in the undeveloped African lands! Now we ask ourselves why haven’t those powerful and wealthy countries done that before but to as charity to the African countries who aren’t able to produce enough food for themselves? This is almost like stealing, stealing the food that should go to the people who are dying of malnutrition. This shows how greedy we can sometimes be. Now let’s wish that this new trend does not catch around the world. Something as mischievous as this should not be tolerated and seen as “a perfect partnership” but as a new scramble in Africa. Back in the eighteenth and nineteenth century wealthy countries stripped Africa from its natural resources, traditions and cultures. They came with the excuse that it was their burden to help the backward “half-devil, half-child”, but when their pockets were full they left them with a new government, in which they did not know how to run, a culture that wasn’t theirs and ruins of destructions and deaths along their path. In the excerpt from “Killing wish” it showed the struggle of a man, Patrice Lumumba to free his country from those who were once their colonizers, and wanted to further use their natural resources. Lumumba’s speeches moved the masses “We have known tiring labor exacted in exchange for salary which did not allow us to satisfy our hunger” and many powerful leaders thought he was a threat to their plan therefore they said he was a “very difficult if not impossible to deal with, and was a danger to the peace and safety of the world” and that the Congo was about to have a “communist takeover”. With these excuses Patrice Lumumba who was perhaps the perfect representative of the Congolese people was persecuted and murdered. Perhaps this conclusion may be wrong, but how many times have we heard that certain leaders were dangerous and later killed? Doesn’t this make us think if we made the right choice in sentencing them to death, perhaps for the wrong reason? Our creed for money and land may take us to do rash things not thinking about other, and the consequences may be good for us but disastrous to them.

The ones with the jobs and the goals and plans rather then the ones who are sailing which ever way the boat takes them? Why? Where's the logic in every of this? Why would you rather pick on and **** with someone who isn't worried about you or is trying or going to be successful but be chilly with the idiots who will probably spend the relax of their lives either in jail or on welfare? Open Question: What if I don't have an business references only family and church members?

Since leaving the traditional workforce I haven't keep up with my former co-workers or employers. So, how am I suppose to supply business references if I don't have any? But, I have assisted my brother is starting a church and been a pastoral assistant to my cousin. I also have a pal who has assisted me with the Angel Tree Program of which I was the Coordinator for my church. I know it may not be politically correct but, these people know more about my work ethic and me than any of my former co-workers or bosses ever will.

Open Question: Congress says no money to the Big 3 without a plan, good move or bad move?

I think it's a good move because if we just give them the money without a plan, I believe that they'll be in the same boat as soon as the money runs out. I fully believe we should help out because of the ripple effect it will cause if the car industry goes belly up. But, making them STATE what the money will be used towards and making them COMMIT to IMPROVING their product is a great move. Good move or bad move? Thoughts?

Open Question: please I do not want an abortion/ i need temp housing?

I am 25 years old and have 2 little girls. They are doing great. I had to leave their business minded successful Daddy for their protection. Now, I made yet another mistake and I am pregnant. I do not believe in abortion. My whole family is disgusted with me. I attend college and work. I need someone to sponsor this baby as in allowing me to liove in their home at low cost or helping me find a shelter, my family has turned their backs, I have a car and am educated and will work as much as I can daycare expenses, basically and the first six weeks, so that I do not have to terminate the pregnancy. the dad will provide child support, but he is married and lied to me about it. I am so scared and feel every alone. I just need help with baby items and childcare expeses so that I can finish my degree in nursing. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! You can pay the money directly to the daycare and you can be there when the baby is born. Please help me. I will be thankful and so would be the soul of my unborn baby. I can't kill it, but I can't let my other two little girls suffer and I can't even consider adoption as I am already in adore with my child in my tummy. I just need some help from someone who can help[ this baby I carry due to my sins. I live in TN
